Pontiac Firebird Driver Collides with Propane Truck, Dies in Auburn
Auburn, California: One person died in a car collision involving a propane truck that happened Monday morning on Highway 49 in Auburn.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision occurred around 6 a.m. near Joerger Road.
Authorities said the driver of a Pontiac Firebird was traveling north on the highway when they lost control and veered into the path of a propane truck traveling about 55 mph.
The vehicles collided, killing the driver of the Pontiac.
The truck driver was not injured.
CHP investigators closed northbound Highway 49 as they worked the scene.
