Raul Castaneda Killed in Irwindale Bicycle Accident at Arrow Highway and Rivergrade Road

Irwindale, California – Raul Castaneda, 50, of San Gabriel has been identified as the man who was killed in a bicycle accident in Irwindale on Wednesday night.

According to the Irwindale Police Department, the accident happened around 8:31 p.m. in the area of Arrow Highway and Rivergrade Road.

Jonathan Calixto was driving a stolen car from a Toyota dealership in El Monte and was evading the police when he struck Castaneda near the Santa Fe Dam Recreation area.

Castenada was killed in the accident.

Police say Calixto drove away after the crash before he abandoned the vehicle and ran away.

Witnesses later alerted authorities to the suspect’s location and he was arrested. Calixto was booked into the West Covina Jail on suspicion of murder.
