Carson, California – 42-year-old Rebecca Chavez has been identified as the woman who was killed in a pedestrian accident that happened on Wednesday night in Carson.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:32 p.m. on the 110 Freeway near the Carson Street off-ramp.
Chavez was running across the northbound lanes of the freeway when she was struck by a vehicle.
Police responded to the crash and found the woman lying in the middle lanes of the freeway.
Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The driver of the semi-truck stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the authorities.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
