Vista, California – 53-year-old Ricardo Becerra of Vista has been identified as the man who died in a car crash last week in Vista.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened on Gopher Canyon Road near Hoxie Ranch Road on March 17, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Ricardo and his wife, Maria, were traveling on Gopher Canyon Road when an oncoming Chevrolet veered into their lane and both vehicles collided head-on.
Ricardo was transported to an area hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
Maria was also hospitalized with unknown injuries.
The 29-year-old driver of the Chevy was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
