Ricardo De Orta-Garcia Killed in High Meadows Crash on Highway 1

High Meadows, California – Ricardo De Orta-Garcia, 44, has been identified by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office as the motorcyclist who died in a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday morning in High Meadows.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Highway 1 just south of Carpenter Street at around 5:52 a.m.

A 17-year-old boy was driving a black Ford F-150 north on Highway 1 when he lost control and crashed into a utility pole on the west side of  road.

The impact caused the pole and wires to fall across all lanes, resulting in a four-vehicle collision.

Orta-Garcia was riding a Honda CBR1000 motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

More details about the accident were not released.

The accident remains under investigation.
