Ricardo Funes Killed in Richmond Crash at South 20th Street and Ohio Avenue
Richmond, California – 16-year-old Ricardo Funes was killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Monday morning in Richmond.
The fatal crash happened in the area of South 20th Street and Ohio Avenue at around 12:01 a.m.
30-year-old Alexi Pineda Ticas was driving a car at a high rate of speed when he collided with another car driven by Funes in unclear circumstances.
Both drivers were trapped and had to be extricated by Richmond firefighters.
Funes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ticas sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Police say Ticas was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and DUI resulting in injury.
The accident remains under investigation.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
