Rider Killed in ATV Quad Crash on Highway 138 in Phelan
Phelan, California – The rider of an all-terrain vehicle died in a collision on Friday afternoon in Phelan.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters responded to the crash at around 12:56 p.m. on Highway 138, near Interstate 15.
Police say the ATV driver failed to yield to a stop sign and collided with the SUV which had the right of way.
The impact of the crash sent the SUV off the roadway.
The ATV overturned, ejecting the rider.
The rider of the ATV suffered major head injuries and was rushed to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to their injuries.
Police said the deceased person was not immediately identified pending notification of the family.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
