Hayward, California: A motorcyclist was hospitalized with major injuries after colliding with a car Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 880 in Hayward.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision occurred around 3:14 p.m. in the southbound lanes just north of the Industrial Parkway off-ramp.
A rider on a white motorcycle collided with a car under unclear circumstances.
The motorcyclist was lying down in traffic lanes after the collision.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities are investigating the collision.
