66-Year-Old San Jose Man Dies, 65-Year-Old Woman Critically Hurt in Santa Clara Car Accident near Stevens Creek Boulevard and Tyler Street
San Jose Man Killed, Two Others Injured in Crash near Santa Clara Intersection
Santa Clara, California: A 66-year-old San Jose man died, and two others were injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday afternoon in Santa Clara.
According to police, the vehicles collided around 12:20 p.m. near Stevens Creek Boulevard and Tyler Street.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 20-year-old San Jose man was speeding westbound on Stevens Creek Boulevard in a pickup truck when he collided with an SUV making a left turn from eastbound Stevens Creek Boulevard into a driveway.
The 66-year-old San Jose man was driving the SUV and had a 65-year-old San Jose woman as his passenger.
First responders found the man on the ground with injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The woman was also hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The 20-year-old San Jose man was not hurt, but his passenger, a 19-year-old San Jose man, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said impairment was not considered to be a contributing factor.
