Santa Clarita Couple Killed in Highway 126 Crash Identified
Santa Paula, California: The Santa Clarita couple killed in a head-on collision last week near Santa Paula has been identified.
Amber Wyatt, 29, and John Sibthorp, 35, died in a crash that occurred around 8:35 a.m. on December 20 on Highway 126 near Boosey Road.
The couple was heading west on the highway when their car collided head-on with a Ford F-150 traveling the opposite direction. Two other vehicles were hit by debris from the crash.
Emergency personnel pronounced Amber dead at the scene.
Sibthorp was extricated from the wreckage and rushed to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 44-year-old Fillmore man, was also hospitalized.
Authorities said the road was wet at the time of the accident due to a multi-day storm system in the area.
The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
A GoFundMe account was opened to help raise funds for the couple’s memorial and funeral services.
