Scooter Rider Critically Injured in Portland Crash

Portland, Oregon: A scooter rider sustained critical injuries after colliding with a car Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in the Englewood neighborhood of Portland.

The accident took place around 1:45 p.m. at Southwest Boones Ferry Road and Southwest 19th Avenue, between Portland and Lake Oswego.

Portland and Lake Oswego police responded to the scene and found what appeared to be a larger moped-sized model scooter that was hit by a car.

The rider was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car was not hurt.

Southwest Boones Ferry Road was closed between Southwest 18th Avenue and Southwest Orchard Hill Road during the investigation.
