Serjio Leon and Maria Ayers Killed in Fresno Crash at Parlier and Buttonwillow

Fresno, California – Two people were killed in a car accident that happened on Monday evening in Fresno.

The accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Parlier and Buttonwillow Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

40-year-old Maria Ayers was driving a Ford Focus, with 58-year-old Serjio Medina Leon as a passenger, when she collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck pulling a trailer.

Leon was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Ayers died while being transported to the hospital.

The pickup truck driver was unhurt.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
