Sonora Police Officer Injured in Sunday Afternoon T-Bone Crash
Sonora, California: A Sonora Police Department officer was hospitalized after the patrol vehicle he was driving was t-boned by another car Sunday afternoon in Sonora.
The wreck occurred just after 4 p.m. on Highway 49 just north of Shaws Flat Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol Sonora-area office, Officer Ron Watson was driving a patrol vehicle north on Highway 49 in front of a silver Toyota SUV.
The officer activated his code 3 emergency response lights for about five seconds and began to make a U-turn.
Watson moved to the right side of the roadway in preparation for the U-turn.
The SUV driver assumed the patrol car was pulling over to the right shoulder and failed to slow down or stop for the emergency lights.
Watson steered left to complete the U-turn, but the right front of the SUV slammed into the driver’s door of the patrol vehicle.
The officer was taken to Adventist Health Sonora with a minor head injury to the left ear. He was treated and released.
The report said no one else was hurt.
The patrol vehicle acquired moderate damage, and the SUV sustained minor damage.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
