Steve Mantanez Killed in Hemet Crash at Devonshire Avenue and Warren Rd
Hemet, California – 51-year-old Steve Mantanez was killed in a two-vehicle collision that left one other person injured in Hemet early Wednesday morning.
The fatal collision happened near the intersection of Devonshire Avenue and Warren Road shortly after midnight, according to the Hemet Police Department.
A Mitsubishi Lancer and a Nissan Pathfinder collided near the intersection in unclear circumstances.
Mantanez was driving the Mitsubishi and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The driver of the Pathfinder had to be extricated before being transported to a trauma center in critical condition.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
