Teen Hit and Seriously Injured by Vehicle in the College Area of San Diego

San Diego, California: A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized with serious injuries after a pedestrian accident that happened Tuesday night in the College Area, authorities said.

The accident took place around 10:20 p.m. in the 7100 block of El Cajon Boulevard.

According to San Diego police, the boy “left a place of safety and began walking southbound across El Cajon Boulevard,” when he was struck by a white Toyota Corolla.

Emergency personnel responded and transported the teen to Rady Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.

The 24-year-old driver of the Corolla stopped and cooperated with investigators after the collision.
