30-Year-Old Merced Man Killed in Livermore Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 580

Livermore, California – A 30-year-old man, a Merced resident, was killed following a motorcycle accident on Thursday morning in Livermore.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 5:40 a.m. June 14, on westbound Interstate 580 between the North Livermore Avenue off-ramp and the Isabel Avenue off-ramp.

Police said the man was splitting lanes at a high rate of speed when his 2019 Suzuki GSX-S motorcycle lost control and was thrown off onto the roadway. A semi-truck then hit him.

The man suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the crash site. His name is yet to be released awaiting notification of his family.

The semi-driver remained at the scene. He was stopped on the Isabel Avenue off-ramp when officers arrived.

Traffic delays were experienced in the area due to the collision.
