Victim of Deadly Apple Valley Motorcycle Accident Identified
Apple Valley, California: The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said 39-year-old Matthew Hicks died in a motorcycle versus minivan crash that happened Sunday evening in Apple Valley.
The Apple Valley man was riding a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja east on Highway 18 when, around 6:10 p.m., he collided with a 2016 Toyota Sienna minivan that was making a left turn from northbound Quinnault Road to westbound Highway 18.
Hicks was hospitalized with injuries but did not survive. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The six occupants of the minivan were taken to hospitals with unspecified injuries. One of them, a child, was airlifted to an-out-of-area trauma center.
Highway 18 remained closed for about three hours as authorities investigated.
