Victoria Cardenas Suffers Serious Injuries After Crash on Highway 60 near Ironwood Avenue
Mesa, Arizona – The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating a traffic collision that left Victoria Cardenas, 26, with critical injuries on Monday afternoon in Mesa.
The crash happened on State Route 60 near Ironwood Avenue.
Police said a pickup truck carrying a flatbed full of long metal pipes lost control, jackknifed before he veered across the center divider and crashed into Victoria’s vehicle.
Cardenas was taken to Desert Banner Medical Center for treatment of critical injuries. She was said to be in a coma.
Authorities said the truck driver was cited for failing to control his car to avoid a crash and not wearing a seatbelt.
