William Laird Ort Suffers Fatal Injuries After Car Crash on W. Ajo Way and S. 6th Avenue

Tucson, Arizona – 80-year-old William Laird Ort succumbed to his injuries days after involvement in a traffic crash in Tucson.

According to the Tucson Police Department, the deadly collision happened on W. Ajo Way and S. 6th Avenue at around 3:00 p.m.

Ort was reportedly heading westbound in his motorcycle on Ajo Way when he attempted to turn left onto northbound 6th Avenue. He was struck by a 2018 Grand Jeep Cherokee that was traveling westbound and had ran a red light.

Ort was transported to a local hospital and was declared dead on July 27.

The Jeep driver was cited for failing to stop for a red light.

No other information regarding this crash was provided.

An investigation is underway.
