Woman Dies in Big Rig Accident in Palmdale

Palmdale, California: A woman died after her car collided with a big rig early Sunday morning in Palmdale, according to authorities.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 3 a.m. to the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway south of 10th Street after reports of a crash involving a big rig.

The responders found a woman with serious injuries. They took the woman to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster. The Littlerock resident later died while receiving treatment.

Investigators established that the woman was driving a 2008 Honda Civic southbound when, for an unknown reason, the car hit the right-side guardrail and became disabled in the No. 3 lane.

A passing 2016 International big rig then crashed into the Honda.

The driver of the big rig did not sustain any injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
