Woman Dies, Man Hospitalized After Crash on US-2 in Snohomish

Snohomish, Washington: A woman died, and a man was hospitalized after their vehicles collided Wednesday evening on a highway in Snohomish.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. on U.S .2 near Three Lakes Road.

Two vehicles collided head-on, trapping both drivers inside.

Responding Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue and Snohomish County Fire District #4 personnel used the jaws of life to extricate one of the drivers, a 23-year-old man, before transporting him to the hospital with serious injuries.

The other driver, a 55-year-old woman, was extricated and pronounced dead.

U.S. 2 at Three Lakes Road remained closed for nearly five hours following the collision.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating the accident.
