Redding, California: A woman was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision involving a Redding Electrical Utility truck that happened Tuesday afternoon, the Redding Police Department reported.

The accident took place at about 4 p.m. on Rancho Road near Sheen Lane.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the collision.

A preliminary investigation showed that a Redding Electrical Utility bucket-style truck rear-ended a 2005 Ford Mustang on eastbound Rancho Road, causing it to veer into the westbound lane, where it was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox.
