Woman Killed in Bicycle Accident on Livorna Road in Alamo
Alamo, California: A woman died after she was struck by a car Wednesday morning while riding a bicycle in Alamo, the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 11:12 a.m. on Livorna Road under the Interstate 680 overpass.
According to police, a woman was riding a bicycle westbound on Livorna Road.
A man in a black Toyota bZ3X was parked on the right shoulder of the road.
The driver of the car drove into the roadway and hit the approaching cyclist.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead after failed medical intervention.
CHP Contra Costa County is investigating the accident.
