Woman Killed in Cabazon Police Pursuit Crash Identified
Cabazon, California: 23-year-old Carlie Membrin of Banning died earlier this month after her car was hit by a suspect being pursued by police in Cabazon.
According to Cabazon police, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on October 3 at Seminole Drive and Malki Road.
On that day, a Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over a red Ford Mustang convertible driven by a 48-year-old Hemet man at the roundabout on Morongo Trail and Seminole Drive.
The Hemet man failed to stop and led the deputy on a chase that reached speeds of 90 to 95 mph.
The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed into the rear of a Nissan Versa waiting at a stop sign at the intersection of Seminole Drive and Malki Road.
Both vehicles were pushed by the force of the impact into a nearby business.
Membrin was driving the Nissan and died at the scene.
The Hemet man suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was arrested for charges of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. The suspect was booked into jail on October 6 but was released the next day on $75,000 bail.

Susanville, California: One person was seriously injured in a traffic collision involving two vehicles that took place late Thursday afternoon in Susanville.
The wreck was reported to authorities around 5:22 p.m. near Highway 395.
One of the vehicles involved was a Subaru.
One person sustained major injuries, including a possible broken finger.
The family of a pregnant woman involved in the crash went to the scene and took her to the hospital as a precaution.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Bakersfield, California: Servando Gonzalez-Sosa, of Mexico, was the person who died in a traffic collision back in June on Comanche Road in Bakersfield, the Kern County Coroner’s Office said.
The wreck took place around 5:03 p.m. on June 25, 2024, near Highway 178.
Authorities said Gonzalez-Sosa was involved in a crash with another vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP handled the investigation.
One Person Dies in Azusa Car Accident on State Route 39 near East Fork Road

Azusa, California: The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly car accident that happened Thursday afternoon on State Route 39 in Azusa.
The accident occurred around 5 p.m. about a mile south of East Fork Road.
A gray Honda Accord and a black SUV were involved in the crash.
Several people were able to get out of the cars, but one person was reportedly trapped inside the wreckage.
Azusa police and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:35 p.m.
Details about if the other parties involved were injured or the extent of their injuries were not provided.
CHP officers are investigating the crash.
