Woman Killed in Collision with Semi Truck at Stockton Intersection
San Joaquin County, California – A driver was killed in a collision involving a big rig near Stockton on Tuesday morning.
At around 11:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a car crash at Highway 88 and Alpine Road.
A big rig hauling live cattle was approaching a traffic signal when it turned red before he reached the intersection. The big rig proceeded and crashed into a gray Toyota SUV that was traveling northbound on Alpine Road.
The big rig flipped onto its side after the collision while the Toyota ended up underneath the trailer.
The female driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Her name was not immediately disclosed.
The truck driver was unhurt.
Authorities do not believe impairment was a factor in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
