Woman Dies, Multiple Injured in Four-Vehicle Collision on Highway 41 in Fresno
Woman Killed in Fresno Chain-Reaction Crash
Fresno, California: A woman died, and several others were injured in a chain-reaction collision that happened Monday afternoon on Highway 41 in Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 12:48 p.m. near Elkhorn Avenue.
Investigators said a heavy-duty Ford F-450 truck was traveling northbound when it rear-ended a Toyota that was stopped on the highway. The Toyota was pushed into a Chevrolet, also stopped, and the Chevy was, in turn, pushed into a big rig trailer.
The Ford came to a rest on top of the Toyota.
The woman driving the Toyota died in the crash.
Cal Fire provided medical aid and transport to five patients, including one with serious injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
