Woman Killed in Highway 29 Pedestrian Crash in Lake County Identified
Lake County, California: 57-year-old Susan Alice Johnson-Cline was identified as the woman who was killed in a pedestrian accident Friday evening near Middletown.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred around 6:15 p.m. on southbound Highway 29, just south of Central Park Road.
Authorities said Johnson-Cline was walking along the highway in wet, rainy conditions when she was hit by a 2020 Tesla Model S in the northbound lane of the highway.
The victim was taken to Adventist Health Clear Lake Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
CHP initially said Johnson-Cline was a resident of Clearlake, but the sheriff’s office said she came from Lower Lake.
Police said alcohol may have been a factor on the victim’s part.
