David Alvarado Identified as DUI Suspect in Deadly Collision on Highway 41 in Fresno County
Woman Killed in Highway 41 DUI Crash in Fresno Cunty Identified
Fresno County, California: 65-year-old Mary Hardin of Helotes, Texas, has been identified as the woman who died in a DUI collision that happened Saturday night in Fresno County.
54-year-old David Alvarado of Madera is suspected of driving while intoxicated, causing the collision.
The accident was reported around 8:30 p.m. on Highway 41 at Manning Avenue.
Mrs. Hardin and her husband, Paul Hardin, were in a Nissan stopped at a red light at the intersection when a Ford pickup truck driven by Alvarado rear-ended their car. The Nissan was pushed by the force of the impact into a Camaro that was also stopped for the red light.
Mrs. Hardin died at the crash scene.
Mr. Hardin was hospitalized with critical injuries.
The couple was serving a mission in California for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The driver of the Camaro and Alvarado were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police said Alvarado is suspected of driving while intoxicated, causing the collision.
