Woman Dies in Bakersfield Car Crash near Harris Road and Ashe Road
Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision in Southwest Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California: A woman died in a three-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday afternoon near an intersection in southwest Bakersfield.
Bakersfield police said the accident happened around 4:54 p.m. on Harris Road near Ashe Road.
According to a preliminary investigation, a man was driving a black Volkswagen westbound in the 6300 block of Harris Road when he veered into the eastbound lanes under unclear circumstances.
The Volkswagen hit a red Honda and a black Mini Cooper.
A woman sustained major injuries in the crash. Emergency personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
All other persons involved sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen is cooperating with investigators.
Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be contributing factors.
