67-Year-Old Woman Dies in Tustin Car Accident on Barranca Parkway and Tustin Ranch Road
Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision in Tustin
Tustin, California: A 67-year-old woman died in a multi-vehicle collision triggered by a speeding driver who ran a red light at Barranca Parkway and Tustin Ranch Road.
Tustin police responded to the intersection, where five vehicles were involved in the accident at around 5:15 p.m.
Authorities said a 25-year-old Santa Ana man was driving westbound on Barranca Parkway at 80 miles per hour when he ran a red light and hit a car driving southbound on Tustin Ranch Road.
Three other cars were also involved in the collision.
The 67-year-old Irvine woman in the vehicle that was struck first and the suspect driver were hospitalized in critical condition.
The woman died later while receiving treatment.
Police are investigating speed and alcohol as contributing factors.
