Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision on I-5 in Sacramento Identified
Sacramento, California: 22-year-old Ayanna Akilah Thomas of Sacramento died after she was hit by a car early Sunday morning in Sacramento.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place on northbound Interstate 5 at the Highway 50 transition.
Investigators said a woman was driving a white Toyota around 65 mph when she suddenly saw Thomas in front of her car.
The driver could not stop on time and ended up hitting Thomas.
Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
