Donna Haney Dies in Jefferson County Crash on Highway 104 near the Hood Canal Bridge

Woman Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 104 in Jefferson County

Jefferson County, Washington: The woman killed in a semi-truck accident Thursday morning on Highway 104 in Jefferson County was identified as 71-year-old Donna M. Haney of Everett.

The collision took place around 9:45 a.m. on the westbound side of the highway just west of the Hood Canal bridge.

According to investigators, Haney was driving a 2016 Subaru Outback west on the highway from the bridge when she attempted to pass a trailer truck at a stretch of the road where there are two lanes in that direction.

Haney lost control of her car, hit the truck, and went into a ditch. The truck came to a stop on the highway’s shoulder.

The truck driver, a 44-year-old Olympia man called 911.

First responders pronounced Haney dead at the scene.

Investigators said speed was a possible factor because the car was traveling too fast for conditions.
