Woman Killed in Van Nuys Wrong-Way Crash Identified

Van Nuys, California: 22-year-old Analeyda Rivas was the woman killed Sunday morning in a wrong-way collision that happened in Van Nuys, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Three other people, including a child, were injured in the crash that happened at around 3:18 a.m. on Saticoy Street and Sepulveda Boulevard.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a car was westbound on Saticoy when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and crashed into the vehicle that Rivas occupied as a front-seat passenger.

The second car deflected and crashed into a power pole.

Rivas was killed in the crash.

Three other people, including a child, were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police arrested the driver of the wrong-way vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence.
