Woman Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on I-82 in Zillah

Yakima County, Washington: One person died in a wrong-way collision that happened Sunday night on I-82 near Zillah.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident was reported around 10:47 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the interstate.

A 27-year-old Toppenish woman was driving a Subaru Legacy eastbound in the westbound lanes when she hit a Chevy Cruze. The Chevy then struck a Dodge Charger.

The Toppenish woman was taken to a hospital in Yakima, where she later died.

The 22-year-old Yakima man driving the Chevy was also hospitalized with injuries.

The 21-year-old Union Gap man driving the Charger was not hurt.

Police said all drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Authorities are investigating the collision.
