Woman Seriously Hurt in Highway 50 Bicycle Accident
Eldorado County, California: A woman was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a bicycle accident that happened on Highway 50 near South Lake Tahoe, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident was reported at about 5:39 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway at Elks Club Drive.
CHP said an elderly woman was hit by a car under unclear circumstances.
First responders found the cyclist conscious and lying on the ground.
The woman was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital with major injuries, including a possible lump on the head.
Officers are investigating to establish the cause of the accident.
