Woman Dies in Santa Clara Pedestrian Accident on Lawrence Expressway at Monroe Street
Woman Struck, Killed by SUV in Santa Clara
Santa Clara, California: A woman died when she was hit by an SUV while crossing the street on a crosswalk early Sunday morning in Santa Clara.
Santa Clara police are looking for the public’s help to identify the victim, who was pronounced dead at the accident scene on Lawrence Expressway and Monroe Street.
The incident happened just before 1:30 a.m.
Police said a Honda SUV was traveling northbound on Lawerence Expressway, approaching Monroe Street, when it hit the woman who was crossing Monroe in a crosswalk.
The woman died at the scene.
Police described the woman as between 25-35 years old, average weight and height, had brown hair, blue eyes, and several tattoos. She was either white or Hispanic.
The driver involved, a 49-year-old Campbell man, stopped and cooperated with investigators.
