Wrong-Way Driver Dies in Crash on SR-76 in Oceanside
Oceanside, California: A wrong-way driver died, and another person was injured in a collision that happened Saturday night on State Route 76 in Oceanside.
According to the Oceanside Police Department, the accident occurred around 9:26 p.m. west of Melrose Drive.
Police said a man in his 30s was traveling the wrong way on the highway when he collided with a white Honda Clarity driven by Stephanie Zamora, 20, from Oceanside.
The wrong-way driver sustained severe injuries and died at 9:31 p.m.
Zamora was taken to Palomar Hospital in Escondido with non-life-threatening injuries.
Drugs and/or alcohol are suspected to be contributing factors.
