Wrong-Way Driver Killed, Another Injured in Highway 37 Crash near Mare Island
Mare Island, California: A man died in a wrong-way collision that happened early Saturday morning on Highway 37 west of Mare Island, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The wreck took place around 2:30 a.m. on eastbound Highway 37.
CHP officers said a man in his 30s was driving his blue PT Cruiser westbound in the eastbound lane of the highway when he collided head-on with an eastbound gold Nissan.
The wrong-way driver was killed in the collision.
The other driver sustained mild-to-moderate injuries.
Investigators said they are looking into whether the deceased was impaired at the time of the accident.
