Yolanda Hernandez Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on Atlantic Avenue

Long Beach, California – Yolanda Hernandez, 78, has been identified as the woman who died after being struck by a car on Saturday evening in Long Beach.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened in the 2700 block of Atlantic Avenue at around 5:25 p.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.

A vehicle traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue when it struck the Long Beach woman.

Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived at the scene and performed CPR on the victim.

Sadly, Yolanda succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The driver of the car, 32-year-old Ronald Quispe, of Long Beach, initially left the scene, but later returned and cooperated with the authorities. He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
