Petaluma, California: One person died in a traffic collision that happened early Thursday morning at an intersection in Petaluma.
The California Highway Patrol received reports of the crash around 12:40 a.m. at Adobe Road and Frates Road.
A green or gray BMW Convertible collided with a silver Cadillac for an unknown reason. The Cadillac was blocking traffic lanes after the crash, and the BMW was stopped in a field on the left shoulder.
Two parties were trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Petaluma police and firefighters responded to the scene.
One person was killed in the collision, the report said.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.

The man was crossing the street in the area when he was struck by a car.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The name of the victim was not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the car stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the police.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

The man was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
