San Jose, California – Authorities in Santa Clara County have disclosed the identities of two of the three people who were killed in a chain-reaction crash early Monday morning in Sunnyvale.

The accident was reported at around 12:30 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 near Fair Oaks Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities say the crash was triggered by a northbound Ford pickup truck that crashed into a center divider and came to a stop in the northbound lanes.

Several vehicles subsequently crashed into the pickup truck. A total of six vehicles were involved in the collision.

Three people are reported to have exited their cars and were struck by a passing vehicle. The impact of the crash threw the victims into the southbound lanes where they were hit by another car.

23-year-old Tyler Tolentino Rasay and 24-year-old Paul August Dennig Jr. were killed in the accident.

A third person whose identity was not immediately released was also killed in the accident.

CHP says five people were injured in the accident and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.

Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.

Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.

The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.

Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.

The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.

McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.

The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.

Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
