Good Samaritan Killed in Crash on I-10 in Pinal County
Pinal County, Arizona: A good Samaritan died, and several others were injured in a traffic collision involving an ambulance that happened Sunday on Interstate 10 near Casa Grande.
Authorities said the incident started when the driver of an American Medical Response ambulance possibly fell asleep behind the wheel while traveling eastbound on I-10.
The ambulance appeared to lose control at milepost 185 and traveled back and forth across the roadway before rolling.
The ambulance came to rest on its wheels between the No. 2 lane and the right shoulder.
The ambulance was occupied by the male driver and a female passenger, both AMR employees.
Two good Samaritans, a man and a woman, both driving in separate cars stopped to help the ambulance occupants.
As the good Samaritans attempted to offer help, another unrelated vehicle driven by a male driver slammed into the ambulance and hit both good Samaritans. The ambulance was pushed off the highway to the right.
The male good Samaritan died at the scene.
The female good samaritan was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The female ambulance passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The male driver of the ambulance and the male driver of the car that hit the ambulance suffered minor injuries.
Authorities said they are investigating impairment as a factor on the part of the driver of the vehicle that struck the ambulance.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
65-Year-Old Kenneth Joseph McLeod Dies in Irvine Crash at Alton Parkway and Foster
Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
