Good Samaritan Killed in Crash on I-10 in Pinal County
Pinal County, Arizona: A good Samaritan died, and several others were injured in a traffic collision involving an ambulance that happened Sunday on Interstate 10 near Casa Grande.
Authorities said the incident started when the driver of an American Medical Response ambulance possibly fell asleep behind the wheel while traveling eastbound on I-10.
The ambulance appeared to lose control at milepost 185 and traveled back and forth across the roadway before rolling.
The ambulance came to rest on its wheels between the No. 2 lane and the right shoulder.
The ambulance was occupied by the male driver and a female passenger, both AMR employees.
Two good Samaritans, a man and a woman, both driving in separate cars stopped to help the ambulance occupants.
As the good Samaritans attempted to offer help, another unrelated vehicle driven by a male driver slammed into the ambulance and hit both good Samaritans. The ambulance was pushed off the highway to the right.
The male good Samaritan died at the scene.
The female good samaritan was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The female ambulance passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The male driver of the ambulance and the male driver of the car that hit the ambulance suffered minor injuries.
Authorities said they are investigating impairment as a factor on the part of the driver of the vehicle that struck the ambulance.

Santa Maria, California: One person was seriously injured in a traffic collision that happened Friday morning in Santa Maria.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred around 5:42 a.m. in the 1599 block of East Betteravia Road.
A red Nissan sedan and a white sedan were involved in the crash.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found one person with major injuries. The patient was hospitalized in unknown condition.
CHP officers are investigating the accident.
Man Dies in Bicycle Accident at Elm and Beech Avenues in Orangevale
Bicyclist Killed in Orangevale Crash at Elm and Beech Avenues
Orangevale, California – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision that left a bicyclist dead on Thursday afternoon in Orangevale.
The deadly crash happened at the intersection of Elm and Beach avenues at around 4:30 a.m., according to the police.
The man was riding the electric bicycle heading south on Beech Avenue approaching Elm Avenue while a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Elm Avenue.
Both the bicyclist and the driver entered the intersection at the same time and collided.
The bicyclist was killed in the crash.
The pickup driver was not injured and stayed at the scene after the crash.
More details regarding the accident were not provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Fresno, California – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident that happened on Thursday morning in Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at around 10:45 a.m. on Highway 180 near Highway 41.
The man reportedly ran across the highway directly in front of a car and was hit.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the man was not immediately disclosed
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
