Skateboarder Hit and Seriously Injured by DUI Suspect in San Diego
San Diego, California: A skateboarder was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a DUI suspect Thursday night in San Diego’s Fox Canyon neighborhood.
The accident took place around 11:50 p.m. in the 3600 block of Euclid Avenue.
Investigators said a man was riding a skateboard southbound on the roadway, and a 20-year-old woman was driving a 2009 Honda Accord at a high rate of speed southbound on the same block as the skateboarder.
The driver hit the skateboarder and fled the scene.
The woman was then allegedly involved in another crash at 2500 46th Street and, again, fled the scene.
The suspect was later located and arrested about three hours later after her Honda was disabled at Fairmount Avenue and Interstate 8. Police believe she was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collisions.
The skateboarder was hospitalized with serious head and torso trauma. The injuries are considered to be life-threatening.
An investigation is ongoing.

Santa Marcos, California – An elderly woman was killed in a pedestrian accident that happened at an intersection in San Marcos on Friday night.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s Traffic Division, the fatal accident happened at the intersection of Twin Oaks Valley Road and Shubin Lane at around 9:07 p.m.
A 76-year-old woman was struck by a Toyota Camry that was traveling southbound on Twin Oaks Valley Road.
The woman was rushed to Palomar Medical Center Trauma Unit where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Camry stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 180 at Hayes Avenue.
A 61-year-old woman driving a Toyota Camry north on Hayes Avenue and was pulling out of a stop sign when she collided with a big rig.
The unidentified woman was killed in the accident.
The driver of the big rig was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.

According to the Sacramento Fire Department, the accident occurred around 2:10 p.m. at Watt and Marconi avenues.
