Steam Releases Sale Dates For 2022

Valve has announced the dates of all upcoming Steam sales in the first half of 2022. That includes the Summer Sale in July, as well as several tweaks to its sale policies that should make life easier for developers while also giving gamers more ways to spend their money. First and foremost, let’s take a look at the upcoming Steam seasonal and thematic sales:

  • Next Fest on Steam

From February 21 through February 28, we’ll focus on upcoming titles with playable demonstrations.

  • Next Fest on Steam

More planned games and demos—exact dates to be announced in June. TBA

  • Summer Sale on Steam

From June 23 to July 7, Steam will host a massive midsummer festival.

  • Playing Together Over the Internet

This event features titles online, split-screen, or shared-screen cooperative gameplay capabilities. Participation is open to any game that supports Remote Play Together. (28 February – 7 March)

  • JRPG

This event focuses on JRPG games. You’re well aware of who you are. (14-21 March)

  • Hobby Edition of SimFest

For games that turn unpleasant jobs into pleasurable pastimes. Do you want to test out a new career or hobby without having to invest in years of training or a slew of expensive equipment? These are the games available to you. (March 28th – April 4th)

  • Racing

Driving, flying, and floating are all possibilities. Things are competitively fast, whether on wheels, on the water, or in the air. (From May 23 until May 30)

  • Survival

Stake your claim to the land, forage for food, and stave off the onslaught of death. This event is for games for goal is to live as long as possible. 18th – 25th of July

It is not an exhaustive list of Steam events schedules for the first half. Throughout 2022, Valve plans to hold more themed sales “to put a focus on many of the unique themes and genres popular on Steam,” regional sales, and others managed by third parties for events like PAX and Gamescom.

On the developer side, Valve is making adjustments to make discount eligibility more predictable and allow for more participation chances throughout the year.
